Human Promises

It happens in everyone's lives where someone promises you the world... but can't even deliver the truth. "Sorrow" by Flyleaf is a song about just that. This female-headed band expresses a lot about the ugly side of this world and how it's a miracle we are just alive. Yes, they're Christian but they chose to enter into the mainstream because they believe it's their mission to unite people by telling them everyone struggles and suffers. With a lead singer like Lacey Mosley, who isn't afraid to scream her head off to show pain, who wouldn't believe them?

Well back to "Sorrow"... as I mentioned before, the song is about someone promising you everything you could ever want. But a man's promise is as good as having a single ice cube on the hottest day in August: you only feel good for a few seconds and when you realize it's too little, it does no good. But they also say in the song that faith never fails and the promise it holds that can't be broken. The song is short, and the video only shows a story near the end, but the magician's act makes sense for this song: someone told her she would be fine doing this trick, but it goes wrong. Just goes to show how much people actually know. I really do like this band A LOT. You'll definitely hear more about them later. Lyrics @ Lyrics.com
